Until the 14th of April I will be in Puerto Rico, and throughout the summer of 2024 I’ll be working seasonally in Alaska. Alaska keeps taking me back for the summers! its hard to explain. There is no place like it on earth and when you get the chance, I’d recommend you try your hardest to get there at some point. It has something for everyone.
I’ll leave you to find out all the other amazing things Alaska has to offer.
The answer is Yes! I manage to travel around the US with very little money. I believed that you needed to have thousands saved up to travel. While that does help it's not a necessity. The month I'm writing this (November) I spent around $600. It was only that much because of gift buying! Over the coming 3 months, I expect to spend about $300 a month (if I'm good)
Right now I don't consider myself a digital nomad. The money I get throughout the year is from seasonal jobs and Christmas cards (Thank you lovely family of mine!) My definition of a digital nomad is someone who is fully self-sustainable on the income they make from online resources. Although I'm not making money through my digital means, I hope that it serves as an inspiration, showing you don't need to make money online to travel to the places you want to go.
You can read about that on my about page. Or, if you have further questions, reach out through my email whichAbout you should find scattered across my website.
With my upbringing, the people who i've met and learned about on my journey, and developing an understanding of common problems of why people can't travel, I say YES! Anyone can travel. Now, more than ever, there are literally thousands of opportunities for you to travel to a new state, territory, or country. Throughout my blog, you can find many bandaids for any issue you have.
Okay, you got me. This is not a frequently asked question but it's a chance to share a little about myself.
Food is a way to share community with others and fulfill much more than the desire your belly has. Food makes memories. Food tastes different every time you eat it regardless if its the same meal.
My favorite food is always changing. All it takes is one meal to change my mind on whats my favorite. Currently my favorite food is a traditional plate of criollan food. Some yellow Puerto Rican rice with habichuelas (beans) tostones, and some smoked pork. That is a plate thats worth eating over and over again.
